Glad Tidings Pentecostal

Come Be Part of Our Family

    June 24, 2020
We are on track to gather on July 5th for our Sunday Morning Service at 10:30 am!

We promised to update you on our plans for resuming services. We are still on track to gather on July 5th for our service at 10:30 am.

There are three options for you to worship: in the sanctuary (as seating permits), in the lower auditorium (as seating permits), and by online video (later on Sunday). If you are not comfortable resuming in-person attendance, we are happy to provide the video on our Vimeo page. Please do not feel pressured to attend.

To help us plan, we would appreciate you calling the church (705-653-2411) either Thursday, July 2 or Friday, July 3 in the mornings (9 am-noon) to indicate your attendance on Sunday. While this is not a requirement for attendance, it will help us.

We have some information to share with you regarding what we must communicate to you and what we must do for our worship services. These rules have been set forward by the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit and the Government of Ontario.

All places of worship must adhere to the following requirements:

  • Participation of no more than 30% of the capacity of your premises.
  • Maintaining a distance of two metres/six feet between all persons as much as possible.
  • Encouraging the use of masks, and requiring that masks be worn if, in rare circumstances, physical distancing is not possible.
  • Limiting singing and loud speaking. (Our District communication: It is … our conviction that we limit our collective right with respect to corporate singing at this time, and refrain from it during our public gatherings, at least in the near term.)
  • Avoiding opportunities for the virus to spread through touch, either directly or indirectly through surfaces and objects, including objects that may be used in rituals or ceremonies.
  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfection.

During Services

  • Children should remain with their parents. Separate children’s activities should be suspended.
  • Encourage attendees to bring their own non-medical mask/face coverings. Cloth masks can be made with household items such as a T-shirt or bedsheet, or a bandana may be used. Physical distancing is still required even when using a mask.
  • Avoid any physical contact. Encourage people to greet each other with a smile, bow or wave (e.g. during exchange of the Peace).

Other information:

  • If you require the bathroom, sanitizing wipes will be available so that you are able to sanitize all surface areas you have touched. Please do so.
  • There will be a box at the back for offerings, or you can give online.
  • Following the Benediction, we would ask that the sanctuary be exited from the back rows to the front. Those in the lower auditorium can exit through the doors to the back. This will help maintain social distancing as required.

We are thankful for the opportunity to worship together and are seeking to ...
Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it's God's order. So live responsibly as a citizen. If you're irresponsible to the state, then you're irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible. (Romans 13:1-2  MSG)

Thank you for your cooperation and consideration,

Pastor David & Board
